For clients, collaborators and subscribers we publish Cue, a monthly enewsletter. Cue delivers a selected list of our Lightbulb law blog posts and Dilanchian Library articles. Some find Cue more useful than our RSS feed, which delivers all our posts and articles.

Recently, justweb, a  Web development client, found Cue interesting enough to republish it monthly on its Website, indexed as Business Law Articles. justweb excels in search engine optimisation and Web development for small and medium-sized enterprises. This development prompts this guide for the Dilanchian  Website Library.

Historically we published most of our article in PDF format. It maximised their visual appeal.

We now use PDF only occasionally. This is for three reasons. Production of multiple media online content has become easier than ever. Google and other search engines don't seem to read at least our PDFs as often as HTML. Finally, speed of download.

Browse the Library. It has about 100 text, video or audio files. Included are Dilanchian brochures and practical documents free-of-charge in the Free Tools section for registered users.

All Library content can be searched in numerous ways. This adds greatly to its functionality. Uniquely for a professional services Website, you can  search articles in these five ways:

1.  Client Needs,

2.  Client Industry Sector,

3.  Client Business Function,

4.  Client Business Life Cycle, and

5.  Dilanchian Practice Area.

Dilanchian Practice Area - three search options

Most law firm Websites have available only the fifth type of search interface. The Dilanchian Practice Area interface (illustrated in the big graphic above) is perhaps the most useful. You can:

  • To reach it click Library in the main menu or Library graphic. You'll now be in the Dilanchian Practice Areas interface. It lists Categories of items. The first six Categories are our law firm's service fields, eg the first is Commercialisation & Knowledge Management.
  • Click any Category and you'll go to the next level, the article interface. Here you can scroll through  or sort articles by hits and name. The default mode is sorting by date added.
  • To search articles by keywords, click "Search document" at the top under the magnifying glass.

These various search options are all illustrative of our long-standing interest in legal knowledge management. In less high falutin terms, they help translate business and intellectual property law to make the subjects easier to understand and access.
