lb_thumbnail The origin of the phrase "a picture paints a thousand words" is debated, apparently first appearing in around 1828. We're long term subscribers to it at Dilanchian Lawyers & Consultants. We strive to visually present concepts, ideas and principles to our clients. Graphics can speed up, simplify and clarify communication. In the Flash slideshow here they really imprint the message in the title to this post.

The graphics come from The value of knowledge: European firms and the intellectual property challenge. This is a January 2007 white paper by the Economist Intelligence Unit. The Unit has operated for 60 years and is the research and advisory division of The Economist Group, publisher of The Economist and CFO.

The graphics paint a story about corporate IP strategy and tactics in Europe. They have real cred, reflecting a survey in September-October 2006, across 49 countries in Europe, a  diverse spread of industries, and over 400 executives nearly half at C-level or board members. Check them out in our Flash slideshow below. Our thanks to the Economist Intelligence Unit for spotlighting what major companies in Europe either plan to do, or are already doing, to more effectively build futures with intellectual property.
